Breeders Hive case study: an offline-first app that replaces paper records for bird breeders

Bird breeders often track their aviaries with paper records, calculation sheets and calendar notes. Records get lost, hatching dates are missed and bloodlines are hard to follow.

Breeders Hive needed to turn all of that into one simple app that works in the aviary without an internet connection, keeps data safe, and lets a breeder share the account with their team.

We built an offline-first mobile app: breeders manage their data on the phone without an internet connection, and back it up to the cloud to recover it or move between devices. No registration is required to start.

The app covers the full breeding cycle: a bird gallery with ring numbers, species and varieties, pairings with cage and nest placement, egg and hatching notifications, genealogy and consanguinity tracking, health and vaccination records, purchases, sales and expenses, and competition entries. Team members can be added with shared access, and data can be exported to Google Sheets.
